Under public pressure following the killing of two protestors, the Trump administration shifts to what Trump referred to as a "softer touch" in Minnesota. Guardian

A pattern of behavior.

As DHS and the federal government continue their crackdown on immigrants, a familiar pattern continues which includes:

  • Violence, lying and obfuscation.
    • ICE shot two people in Portland it claimed were "vicious" gang members which claim was contradicted by the government's own prosecutors. Guardian
    • Man ICE said "purposefully ran headfirst into a brick wall" recounts unprompted beating he endured at the hands of ICE agents during his arrest. AP

  • Detaining children and people in the country legally or with pending asylum cases.
    • 10-year-old Minnesota girl and her mother who were finally released after a month in detention. Guardian
    • 5-year-old Minnesota boy and his father who the government has continued attempting to deport after being forced to release from detention. AP
    • An Irish man in the US legally has been detained by ICE for 5 months. Guardian
